The winner of the contest was Solid Snake with his toughest opponent being in round 1 against Naked Snake. While the contest wasn't followed extensively by board 8 it was referenced numerous times in an attempt to compare new characters in the Summer 2005 Contest, namely Naked Snake and Carl Johnson. Unlike GameFAQs contests this contest included characters that did not originate from videogames such as James Bond, Wolverine and Goku.

In 2005 IGN hosted a contest titled Battle of the Badasses where IGN staff selected 32 Playstation 2 characters and pitted them against each other in an attempt to decide which character was the most badass.
